Quanta Magazine, an interesting place!

Click link: A new physics theory of life
What more can I say? Just go there and look for yourself. It has a ring of being important and for people with the ability still to learn new things without being hindered by indoctrination and old beliefs, it may stimulate further thoughts and study of the subject.

The world surely is far more intricate and exciting than the fundamentalists and creationists want us to believe!

The comments are very interesting as well and I was especially thrilled to read  about

The observation that under a generalized chemical potential material self-organizes into systems which augment the dissipation of that potential should be accredited to Ilya Prigogine, “Introduction to Thermodynamics of Irreversible Processes”, John Wiley Sons Inc., 1968.

I have not read anything by Prigogine yet but his name has long been on my list of scientists I'd want to learn more about. But there is so much to be done and life is so short....

  1. I just took a quick look at the comments there and will only point out that one of the commenters made an argument about why, if life so easily may start, why didn't life start on Mars? While most people knows that Mars just isn't fit to sustain life. Dry, cold, unprotected against solar radiation - there's nothing there..

Although we don't know how it might have looked some billion years ago - there may have been som sort of life there, and the search isn't over yet.
